News for Winter

Winter is upon us once again, bringing dark nights, chillier winds and the flu season. Most patients should now have been made aware of our flu campaign. If you are not sure about whether you are eligible for a flu vaccination, please speak to a member of staff. Its not to late to have vaccination.

Practice News

Dr Rebecca Keogh has taken the role as Clinical Lead. We would also like to welcome on board Dr Redford, Dr Saraf, Dr Elliot and Dr Gorantyal. .

We have recruited a new nurse practioner Mandy Mooney who is with us on Mondays and Fridays. Mandy will be a first point of contact within the Practice for patients when needing a same day appointment or advice. Also Mandy can see many ailments and also prescribe antibiotic if needed.

After Dr Smart's departure earlier in the year Dr Rebecca Keogh has taken the role as Clinical Lead. We are currently recruiting new GP's for the practice, while we do this we have some visiting GP's to cover clinics. These GP's are thoroughly checked and vetted before they commence working with us.

We have also recruited a new GP Dr Sarah Redford who started at Earsdon Park at the Beginning of November. Dr Redford will be working Mondays and Tuesday.

It's Flu season again!  We have already had several drop in clinics which have proved a huge success, however don't forget that if you have not had a flu injection, and you meet the criteria for eligibility, please speak to a member of staff who will arrange for you to be seen by one of our nurses.

Patient Participation Group.

We are currently looking for new members to join our Patient Participation group.  Your views and ideas could really make a difference and we are always keen to hear your ideas.  If you would like to join is or for more information, please contact the surgery.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 25th March starting at 5pm at Shiremoor resource centre.

Patient Groups are an effective way for patients and GP surgeries to work together to improve services and to promote health and improved quality of care. They are also an effective mechanism for patients to share their feedback with the practice.
